This year's CASBC conference theme is in keeping with the general theme for the 2013 Congress, "@ the edge." Throughout history the artisans of the book, from authors to printers, engravers, illustrators, publishers, readers...have always wanted to push the boundaries of the book. Either to improve its productivity, quality, or genre, the book has benefited from many innovations that changed its practices...Papers will explore the innovations of the book from all perspectives revolving around writing, publishing, advertising, and reading practices.
