OVERVIEW OF THE LIAISON ROLE

The relationship SHARP has and fosters with various affiliate societies and organizations varies according to the nature of the particular affiliate organization.

The following offers a sampling of tasks that SHARP liaisons handle:

• Organize or delegate an organizer to feature a panel at affiliate's national annual conference
• Ensure that speakers on any SHARP-sponsored panels at an affiliate society's conference are indeed current SHARP members
• Actively promote SHARP in terms of recruitment through distribution of promotional material and meet-and-greet at SHARP-sponsored panels at affiliate conferences
• Write brief articles on SHARP panels for SHARP News and, write brief articles on relevant panels at SHARP conference for the affiliate's newsletters
• Compile list of current research projects being undertaken by SHARP members who are also members of the affiliate organization

SHARP liaisons meet each year at a breakfast meeting held during the annual SHARP conference.
