SHARP is a global scholarly network created to promote teaching and research in the history of the book. It seeks to provide a means of communication between those working in the field of book history. "Book history" is defined as the history of the creation, transmission, and reception of the written and printed word in all literatures and languages.
Members receive the quarterly newsletter SHARP News, access to the annual Membership Directory, and the hardcover journal Book History. Students and unwaged persons can opt for a rate that does not include a subscription to Book History. Libraries may subscribe to SHARP News alone.
